My Students

Do you remember sitting in elementary school at a desk for 8 hours? Well, I sure do and I remember losing focus quite often. My class is made up of unique and different personalities as well as learning styles. I have many students who suffer from learning disabilities. Research has found that flexible seating is helping these students to succeed in school and stay focused. 7 and 8-year-olds need to get up and move around, not sit at a desk for 8 hours listening to me talk!

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take control of their learning. Every student is different and they each learn in different ways. The rug will help my students have an area to go lay on with their clipboards for those who need more comfort. The activity tables will allow my students to collaborate with one another. The floor seats will allow them to get out of their seats and sit where they want. The items I have selected will help my students to feel more comfortable. I truly believe students learn more when they are in an environment that they feel is safe, fun, and engaging.
