Comfortable Chairs for Counseling Students

Help me give my students these round lounge chairs so that they feel comfortable while in my counseling office.

My Students

I meet with students grades K-12. I teach a class of 10 students social/emotional lessons. The students that I meet with are normally eager to learn new information and are often full of energy when we meet.

I also meet with students individually.

These students deal with a variety of setbacks that include parental divorce, anxiety, depression, abuse, behavioral issues, etc. Students of all ages are always in and out of my office. Unfortunately, the seating in my office consists of a fold out chair that is not comfortable for students that come in and are wanting to discuss an issue.

Students in younger grades enjoy reading books and being read to. New books, curriculum, and dvds would benefit the students' learning process. Students would love to have comfortable chairs and a comfortable setting to meet with me for counseling sessions.

My Project

Students that come into the counselor's office would feel more comfortable and more at ease if they had better seating. Being able to sit in a comfortable chair would help a student feel less anxious and more open to being in the office, as it is not an easy thing for some kids to do in the first place. An inviting office would make this easier and it starts with seating. Comfy chairs for the counselor's office would make a huge difference for the students that come in and need to talk.
