Comfortable Chairs Entice Developing Readers

My Project

In my reading intervention classes for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, I am helping struggling readers improve not only their reading skills, but their relationship with reading. This means that I try really hard to make my classroom as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

My project includes acquiring four bean bag chairs to create a cozy and comfortable reading corner.

I currently have two bean bag chairs, but the duct tape can no longer hold the seams together. Students love to have choices, and they truly appreciate not having to sit in hard chairs all day long. They jump at the chance to use the bean bag chairs!

Whether it's for partner timings to work on fluency, or silent reading time, students have loved my bean bag chairs to death. Please help us to buy new bean bag chairs to help foster strong readers who love to read!
