My Students

I have an amazing classroom of 23 active second graders with many diverse needs. I teach all core subjects and content areas to these students. The total population of our school is about 350 students.

Our school has seen a rise in the number of students living in poverty over the years.

We now have almost 50 percent poverty at our school, but our school does not receive Title I services. My students would benefit from additional materials to enhance their learning as our school transforms our traditional classrooms into personalized learning classrooms.

My Project

Our classroom is in a need of a new carpet for our whole group area. The rug that we have is too small. All of my students cannot fit on the current rug that we have. It is also ripped and the edges of the carpet are curled and the students often trip on it, making it a safety issue.

A new bright carpet will provide a comfortable place for the students to sit on while they learn new concepts in our second grade classroom.

The students will be less distracted if they all have room to sit on the carpet. Please help us get a new carpet!
