This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an amazing group of junior high students with special needs who thrive in a structured and supportive environment. They are hardworking, eager to learn, and benefit from a classroom designed to meet their sensory and organizational needs. Many of my students have autism and require sensory-friendly tools to help them focus, regulate emotions, and engage with learning in meaningful ways.
Our classroom is in need of several essential items to create a more functional and welcoming space.
These include:
These items will play a crucial role in making our classroom a better space for learning and growth. The spinning chair will provide sensory input, improving concentration and emotional regulation. The air fresheners will ensure a pleasant classroom environment. Copy paper will allow us to continue creating individualized materials. The school mascot decorations will foster a sense of pride and belonging. Lastly, the shelving unit will help us keep learning tools and technology neatly stored and accessible.
