Comfortable and Fun Seating Options for Engagement, Choice, and Collaboration!
Help me give my students flexible and comfortable seating options in order to cultivate a warm classroom environment full of student choice that best supports their individual needs!
I am a first year teacher and simply cannot wait to start my educational career with a group of fourth/fifth graders in a split classroom. I have a passion for educational equity, project-based learning, and student-centered curriculum.
I want my classroom to be a warm and welcoming haven for my students to explore new ideas and grow as empathetic global citizens.
These students deserve access to diverse books, quality materials, and an environment in which they can create and learn!
My Project
Students thrive in safe, engaging environments that they see themselves reflected and respected in. These resources, among others I will be personally funding, will enable me to create a classroom with flexible seating options which give students the independence and opportunity to choose the seat and space that best fits their learning needs. This empowers students to take charge of their learning and support themselves to have the best possible classroom experiences.
Flexible seating also lends itself to collaboration, accessibility, movement, and relationship building - all essential components of an engaging learning space!
I would love to offer my student the wobble chairs, balance balls, wiggle cushions, and jumbo beanbag seat as a variety of choices, all of which offer unique stimulative or relaxing qualities. With your help, my students will be able to make the best selection for their own needs and gain confidence in their self regulation skills.
