My Students

Being a teacher to over 400 students is a blessing. I get to spend each day with children in grades K-5. You can imagine all the different learning styles I see each day. Oh, and all the colorful personalities.

My goal is to reach each and every student.

I want every child to feel safe and cared for. Having just 45 minutes a week with each class can make that difficult, so I like to start every class with a meeting.

We gather on the floor to connect. We discuss what we're doing in class. More importantly, our meeting gives us a chance to connect. I love to find out how the day is going or what special events are coming up. Making connections with my students is crucial. If they know I care, and if they feel safe, they will learn. Connect, connect, connect...

My Project

Gathering together makes for a more successful class. Having a chance to sit and chat with friends, even if just for a few minutes, helps students refocus. Sitting in a comfortable, welcoming place can only help. This rug will certainly be comfortable.

Since comfort is key, each class begins on the rug for a meeting.

After the meeting, almost everyone moves to the desktop computers. Since children, like adults, enjoy movement and flexible seating, I believe having a comfortable floor space is important.

Please help me make a comfortable floor space for my 400+ students. My students will be so happy to enjoy such a comfortable, colorful rug.
