Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from backgrounds that are full of turmoil and instability. We form a classroom family which is made up of different races, ethnicities, and abilities. Despite various challenges, they are so strong! Their faces light up each morning when we meet via computer and it is my goal to help them be strong, be happy and continue learning in this most unusual manner. At this time, as with all of the world, we are separated by COVID-19 and unable to be together other than virtually. Most of my students have no supplies to assist in their learning and we have no access to school or to teacher supply stores.
I am hoping to fulfill that need.
My Project
My students use white boards daily in school for all subjects! They are easy and fun for them to write on, erase and have the added benefit of not wasting paper! My students are comfortable with this means of sharing. And at this time familiarity and comfort are important for them.The other materials I am asking for are basic tools to enable our children to continue learning as best we can.
In this time of distance learning we will be able to continue with a semblance of normalcy in a time of fear and uncertainty.
