Our school is located in Victoria, Texas. Victoria was hit by Hurricane Harvey in September of 2017. Our school had significant damage and renovations have recently been completed on our campus. In the year since the hurricane, our teachers have come together to make our school a family.
Our students have risen above the challenges of a city in cleanup mode, as many of their homes are still, over a year out, in need of repairs.
They are dedicated to learning.
We are a diverse campus with passionate teachers who serve students who are economically disadvantaged, at risk, special needs, and 21st-century learners. We are a Title I school where most of our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
Having various seating options in my classroom will allow my students to find comfortable positions throughout the classroom. Comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive. My students often work in small groups or with partners. When doing group or independent tasks, seating around the room is limited. I want to give my students more options, so they feel in charge of their learning while feeling comfortable and safe.
Allowing flexible seating choices can alter their comfort levels when working in small groups or independently.
The products I have selected will give my students more seating choices around the room and help create a comfortable learning environment.
