My Students

I teach at a Title 1 school in South Louisiana, and my students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds. Many of my students face things on a daily basis that as an adult I have not faced myself. However, they still come to school each day, excited and eager to learn. Each morning I am greeted by the most loving bunch of 5 year olds. It is my responsibility, as an educator, to provide an inviting and comfortable place for them to call home 8 hours of the day.

My Project

Have you ever had to sit for multiple hours a day. Now try to imagine sitting on a cold hard floor. Not having a designated place of their own, makes it hard for my students to concentrate and stay engaged in our lessons. My kindergartner's deserve a comfortable place to enjoy our daily classroom lessons.

I am requesting a rug for our classroom to use during our whole group lessons.

My students need a comfortable place to call their own.

We spend most of our day on the floor and my students would love to have a comfy space while they take on the learning challenges of kindergarten.
