This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a 7th grade teacher in an urban school district where the entire school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. Our middle school students sit for the majority of the day due to the connected seat/desks combo. This makes for a lot of squirming and the need to take breaks and go for walks.
Our school is made up of low-income families as well as students with English as a second language.
With these cushions, students will be able to sit comfortably for longer periods of time, allowing for more productivity and less time leaving the classroom.
My students will use these cushions to be more comfortable and help students push towards achieving success.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
