This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are caring, creative, and full of energy. Many of them face challenges outside of school that make it hard to stay focused and emotionally balanced during the day. School is their safe place, a place where they can breathe, create, and feel supported.

They’re learning not only reading and math, but also how to manage emotions, express themselves, and find healthy ways to cope with stress.

I want to create a calm, supportive space in our classroom where students can take a short break to reset when they feel overwhelmed. This project will provide mental health support tools like:

Huggable weighted stuffed animals for comfort and calming sensory input. Sketchbooks and drawing supplies for students to express emotions through art.

These items will help students learn to self-regulate, build resilience, and return to learning feeling calm and ready. Your donation helps create a classroom that supports both hearts and minds. Every sketchbook and weighted plush becomes a small reminder that it’s okay to take a break, breathe, and start again. Thank you for helping our students feel seen, supported, and safe.
