This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have a number of students many who are newcomers who have experienced so much. We also have students experiencing traumas, family events, and other things that can cause stress and anxiety. Sometimes it is hard not to bring those worries to school. Weighted Bumpas would allow students to have an item that can help them to cope with some of that stress and anxiety. These stuffed animals are weighted and can be held and hugged by students who need those calming moments during the school day. These items would be loved and appreciated by many students right now who need positive calming strategies.
