Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating can be extremely beneficial in early childhood classrooms. Different types of seating can give students the opportunity to move around freely and work together comfortably.

Currently my students do a lot of partner work but the majority of it is done at either their desk or on the floor.

The seat cushions can give them the ability to work on the floor comfortably with their buddy by either sitting or laying on top of them!

Wobble stools can help improve focus and strengthen core. They will also give students the freedom to either sit on it upright or on their belly depending on the students needs.

The clipboards will give students the chance to work around the room and do their stations and science while moving around. We currently do not have anything that they can write on to do work around the room besides their desks. They love to do work around the room and clipboards will give the students the opportunity to do that!

Lastly, over the last few years students have always asked for at least one if not both lights to be off since they are too bright. Fluorescent lighting has been known to give headaches and discomfort. By adding lamps we will have the flexibility to not only mitigate these discomforts but help our school conserve energy.
