My students will change the world for the better. They are innovative, intelligent, generous, kind, and are very grateful for all of the challenges and blessings that life brings. My students inspire our entire community. The amount of collaboration and innovation that occurs due to their excitement for learning is inspiring. Comet kids have a strong desire to wonder, grow, and problem solve. A growth mindset is a way of life for this outstanding bunch of future leaders.

Our school is an outstanding title I school that is backed with phenomenal community support. The best way to describe our school is that we are known for being the "mighty" comets. We may be small, but we sure are mighty!
My Project
Our STEAM club is full of creativity, problem solving, collaboration, and is constantly teaching our students the most important life skill of all; resilience. All of our maker space activities teach kids about failing, and trying again. We don't give up in STEAM and we keep on trying until we are successful.
Resilience is a challenging skill to teach children in a world of fast-paced, instant gratification.
We have found that our students are very quick to give up and think, "I failed, so that is not for me." Our program teaches kids the very opposite! We learn how to fail with a positive attitude. Changing our mindset will continue to change the lives and mindsets of the fabulous children that we teach!
All of our new materials including iPads, Osmo games, and building kits, are sure to challenge the critical thinking of our students. These materials will help them grow in their problem solving and communication skills!
