I teach first grade students who attend a Title 1 school in a high-need community of Seattle, WA.
Imagine 1st graders with no rug to sit on for story time. Imagine trying to get 1st graders to pay attention to a lesson from their desks, knowing that if you could just get them all together on the rug the instruction would be much more effective.
We need a classroom rug! It's pretty simple... every first grade classroom should have a classroom rug. It will be used throughout the day, everyday, for years!
Your help will help in so many ways. Not only will it make my job as a teacher easier, the students will be more stimulated through seeing, hearing, and doing up close vs at their desks. It will also allow us to have classroom meetings and add more fun to our program!
