This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
They are a genuinely kind group of students, timid at times but full of fire and energy other times. They get along so well. They come from different backgrounds, but in school we are one family. We come from low-income homes. Many students don’t have a chance to read at home for many reasons. So, in school, I like to give kids many opportunities throughout the day to jump into a good book. I love to see them love reading.
My Project
Having books on display makes it easier for kids to see what books are available to them. I love displaying and changing the books every season, every holiday, or every unit. Having a large display center for books allows first graders to see all the different books available for them to read. Students will be able to see all the different titles available. It is so important to have students see the wide variety of different titles. Children can buddy read with partners in class. Children love reading with partners or even independently. Children would love this addition to their classroom.
