My Project

These items will help me with my transition into school counseling from being a classroom teacher for over 20 years. These items focus on kindness, stress and anxiety management, emotional recognition, and acceptance of all. I hope to utilize these items in small group, individual, and whole class lessons for kindergarten through sixth grade.

The opportunity to be able to work with all elementary students on social-emotional learning as a school counselor is a dream come true for me.

Being able to utilize an organizational cart will allow me to move easily around campus from classroom to classroom with all necessary materials and resources. In my 20 plus years as a general education teacher, I often saw students come into class carrying emotional baggage. It was difficult to be able to address the stresses and anxiety that often accompanied this baggage in the classroom because of the focus on academics and curriculum. I look forward to the opportunity to address these areas with students in my new role.
