My students walk into the classroom every morning with an energetic greeting, ready to learn! I always encourage them to be the best they can and for many, my encouragement is all they hear.
I teach at a Title I school in north Alabama.
Over 60% of our students receive free or reduced lunch and breakfast. We have a program called "Nourish One Child" in our community that provides bags of weekend food to many of my students. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.
Our school prides itself on being "The Best in Town" and if you ask any student here, "Who's the Best?" You will always hear a very enthusiastic cheer for our school!
My Project
My students need to be able to move about and wiggle in their seats so that they can feel comfortable and collaborate with their classmates. That's why I am asking for help with getting flexible space floor seats and a table that will offer my students a place to get comfortable.
In my classroom, we're a family and I want to give them opportunities to work together as a family.
This table and floor seats will give my students the opportunity to learn the social skills needed in life. They will be able to collaboratively work on classwork, projects, and literacy or math centers.
My students will be able to choose this flexible seating area to complete their work, but it can also be used as a center area. Students who are comfortable, and enjoying what they're doing will put more effort into it and therefore learn more.
