My Students
A world of discovery awaits in a brand new science lab. It will have new benches, cabinets and stools but no new equipment with which to do labs. We are a creative bunch but haven't figured out how to clone our one set of beakers for multiple subject areas. Help me 'spark' my students' imagination!
My student's are diverse, curious, enthusiastic learners who given the right tools will change the world.
My job, as science teacher, is to help them build a background of scientific literacy. They will graduate with the ability to question, discover and explain the world around them. We challenge our students to be their best selves, isn't that what we want from everyone? Given rigor, relevance and relationships, our students flourish and will change the world around them.
My Project
My students are a diverse group ready to explore the world of chemistry. A lab course with hands on opportunities galore! Like all schools, we learn to do a lot with a little. We are finally (after ten years of existence as a school) getting a real science lab. Years of portable Bunsen burners will finally end-my students deserve the best and this donors choose request will help!
Once our new lab opens in January, we should be ready to go-not stoking the fire to find the funds for lab equipment.
I want ignite curiosity and kindle passion for learning in this new space from day one. Student's will have a more authentic lab experience perhaps fueling these student chemists to pursue STEM careers. Let's spread a love for scientific discovery like wildfire!
