Many of my students didn’t have technology or WiFi at the start of this. Many still don’t. They are either using an iPad that is on loan from the school (we are not a 1 to 1 technology school), sharing one device with siblings or using their parents cell phone. Accessing the curriculum has been difficult. We are unable to give hard copies of work since the brick and mortar school is closed. My kids want to learn and be prepared for next year.
My Project
Social and emotional aspects of learning are lost when not in classroom with your peers. To help provide my students time to be social, we meet everyday via zoom. It is a time where they can see and greet each other, as well as, a time to receive first hand instruction from me.
Imagine missing out on the social aspect of learning.
It is really devastating to me that some of my students are missing their friends. Having the additional Chromebooks will ensure not only will all my students have access to the curriculum, but to their friends too.
