The rug will give our children a defined place to go while at the group reading center. Stories will be read by the teacher or students providing new ideas, words, correct pronunciation, stressing word definition, and story comprehension. The bean bag chair will be the students' "special place" when they read before the group. The rug will help meet my goals of group reading to increase student’s vocabulary, share thoughts, practice paying attention, and listen quietly while being respectful of the teacher and other students.
The Art projects will help the children to improve their motor skills, colors, and communication while creatively expressing their thoughts and ideas using paper, paints, and brush.
The completed projects can be shared in the classroom, or hallway, and taken home.
Our children are special because they work every day to achieve and improve basic classroom expectations and routines.
