Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the school counselor . My students show up to school everyday excited to learn and excited to be in person. They do this despite all the challenges that they face and their constant struggles. They love their teachers and walk through our doors with smiles on their faces.

My Project

The materials will be used to make a comfortable and inviting space for my students to come and speak with me. Everything is bright and colorful. The pom poms from the ceiling and the table cloth will be used to make the space fun and exciting for students to walk in. The Chevron area rug will be at the door when they walk in. The saucer chair will be a spot where they can get comfortable and possibly hug the pillow as they tell me what is bothering them. I want them to come and sit and feel invited and safe to tell me what is on their mind. I don't want to use the harsh overhead lights in my office. I want to use the LED floor lamp to make a softer lighting in my office.
