Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Digital Learners make teaching exciting! I teach Freshman Literature in a high-need community. My students are very energetic and loves to discuss new learning ideas and strategies. My students are being prepared for college through traditional and interactive learning strategies. My lessons plan includes a combination of teaching strategies to reach diverse learners and prepare students for extended learning opportunities.

I have the challenge and opportunity to increase the reading and writing achievement scores in a district that has been failing for many years. My students continue to respond well to digital material. I have seen an increase in progress by adding more technology into my lesson planning.

I need literary DVDs that clearly illustrate literary elements, reading, and writing strategies. Students will be able to make real world connections and benefit greatly from viewing a character performing or explaining a skill or concept. For example, the literary element symbolism can be illustrated through visual scenes or examples. Students can gain a clear understanding by viewing a literary element versus being taught through lecture.

Your support will add quality technological lessons and greatly increase my students educational process. My students are eager to learn and enjoys being challenged.
