Combatting COVID With Cleaner Air: An Air Purifier, Please!

Help me give my students a high-tech, square feet-appropriate air purifier/fan/heater to have the cleanest air possible for a comfortable environment!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a small, cozy neighborhood elementary school in Virginia. The children in my building are lively and great kids. They appreciate and evolve from positive but firm motivation and are very bright when focused and interested. We were named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2006. Our school was renamed in June of 2018.

I love teaching grades Pre-K through first because kids at these stages are so enthusiastic and happy to learn!

I feed off of their enthusiasm, and it makes me want to provide them with even more innovative learning experiences!

My Project

In-person learning is back in effect and September is almost here!

Being a slight germophobe, I am very concerned about the quality of hygiene that my kids and I will experience and I am preparing myself NOW to ensure that my classroom has enough cleaning supplies, work materials, and now--clean air and ventilation.

I am asking for a large air purifier that I can run throughout the school year to keep the air circulated and cleansed. Every year, I have students who suffer from severe allergies, asthma, and bronchitis; a heavy-duty air purifier will alleviate the symptoms of each condition. Furthermore, because masks will be mandated for all of RPS, it is even MORE imperative that I keep up with the ventilation so we all can breathe easier through our masks.
