Help me give my students proper materials for small group interventions which will be crucial after missing so much instructional time due to the COVID closures.
My students are a prime example of the melting pot that is our country, as they represent over 30 different countries in my three classes! Just like the great variety in our backgrounds, my students come to 6th grade with a great variety in their ability to read independently. Some of my students are reading by themselves at an 8th grade level while others struggle through 3rd grade passages.
My students are enthusiastic and passionate about their learning and crave the opportunity to discover new things for themselves.
My Project
As we end this school year completing lessons via virtual learning, many teachers like me are anticipating what next school year will look like in terms of their students abilities. I know without a doubt that many of my future students are going to have some learning gaps due to the complete school closure my state has mandated for the remainder of the school year.
Closing the learning gap of students is always a top priority of teachers, and this next year it will be even more crucial.
I am asking for your help with reading intervention materials and an organizer to provide proper small group intervention instruction, and to keep the work we are doing organized, so that my students will be able to flourish quickly in my classroom.
