Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a speech and language pathologist in a small school. My caseload is primarily severely special needs students with mobility issues, along with communication issues.

Sensory learning is fun and can unlock communication in everyone!

Right now, distance learning is making communicating hard for a lot of my students. I need to see their eyes, help them by holding their hands, and show them my smile to engage them. Hopefully, DonorChoose.org will give me more opportunities to reach these students virtually and safely.

My Project

I have a printer, but now I need ink. Ink is so expensive right now and I use my printer multiple times a day, every day. This project will help me be able to keep printing the activities that we do each week in therapy and visual cues. Right now, it is very expensive to be buying ink for my personal computer I had to get because I do not have access to a color printer. I am starting to get creative but really need a consistent ink supply.

The colors are beautiful and inspiring.

If I am able to print in color, it will help motivate and encourage the students. Especially in a world where the colors around them aren't always happy and bright!
