This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach fifth graders that belong to different backgrounds and ethnicities in San Jose, California. My students are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and inquiring learners who love to come to school each day. They are remarkably inspired to learn and do their best in school.

I teach at an exceptional, diverse, and distinctive school in California where more than 71% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

My students speak many different languages like Spanish, Vietnamese, Greek, Tagalog or Dutch at home. We always celebrate the things that make us different, and the things that make us the same. This wonderful class is a family at school.

My Project

Each of my students come with an extraordinary eagerness to learn and become inventive during my instructional time.

Color paper is an essential tool in every 5th grade class.

Brain researchers show that students are performing better when having different types and colors of paper to use while writing. Color paper creates alertness and excitement, encourages creativity, and offers a sense of well-being in a classroom. For example, pastel colors motivate my students to write with a lot of explanation, evidence and examples and this will be reflected in their writing skills for life.

Students are preparing for our last writing assessment and I would like to offer these tools these last school months.
