We are in a small, rural community in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. We are an entirely free lunch school and many of our students rely on us for both breakfast and lunch.
Many students are not provided with life experiences many of us see as typical and we try to fill those gaps as much as possible.
They like to move and explore the world around them. I love it when they have an ah-ha moment and something clicks. They see something new and are filled with wonder. I am looking to provide my students with a creative and meaningful learning experience. I try to focus on their growth potential and encourage them to have a growth mindset. By doing this, I hope to inspire our earliest learners to love education and learning.
My Project
I like to give my students many opportunities to be creative and use their imagination. These skills are very necessary for problem solving in the future. I know without time to explore and create, my students are not getting what a whole child needs to succeed.
Creativity and imagination are important skills for kids to learn.
With the multicultural colors we can make our pictures look like the people around us!
I am hoping that using these items will help foster a love of being creative and thinking about all the colors in the world!
