Help me give my students a class set of LCD writing tablets for my High School Math classroom. The tablets would save paper and make the experience fun as the boards. I am also asking for a blackboard.
Most of the students I teach have a history with struggling with Math. A good number also face the possibility that they may not graduate due to their struggles with not just Math but with the challenges that they face in life.
I teach at WHS in Saratoga Springs, Utah which is a small-ish and new-ish community just outside Provo.
My Math for Decision Making class is for those students who desperately need a math credit to graduate and so is filled with Seniors who come in with not the best attitude towards the subject and with school.
The landscape that surrounds my school is unique in that it was recently farms, dirt and a large Lake to go with it (Utah Lake). There is a population of FFA students who I enjoy hearing about their weekends in bull riding competitions. One student last year was really excited about her new calf and offered to walk it to school. I settled for pictures.
I could go on but in summary, with the hardships of Covid, being Seniors and with needing to work outside of school to pay their own way, this funding would assist in their success.
My Project
I am asking for a class set of LCD writing tablets for my High School Math classroom. We have been using white boards which have been messy. It takes extra time to erase and hand out and collect materials. The tablets would save paper and make the experience fun as the boards. I could have them check one out to use at home.
I am also asking for a black chalkboard, liquid chalk, an eraser and pen holder.
This is for the same reasons as mentioned above. My regular whiteboard does not erase very well and it is difficult to see what I am writing. All of these items would positively improve the students’ learning experience.
