This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a school that is in partnership with a county school for early learners. I am the district teacher in my classroom, but many of the things on campus or in the classroom are not mine, and what is given to me is limited due to a small budget. Printing is difficult to do, since the printer is not in my district, and I would have to travel 30 min. just to go print color printouts.

My students are all Hispanic low income children, that don't have many outside experiences.

The printer that I am asking for will help me print out different pictures and activities that will help my teaching be more fun. I would also love to sent homework with actual color pictures to keep students' attention, instead of boring black and white copies that lose their interest. For example, we teach transportation as one of the themes, out of 20 students 19 have not been on any form of transportation except for a car. I would like to be able to print out pictures of different forms of transportation as an activity to show the details of each. Color just gives life to the pictures and gets students the life experience that they might never experience.
