My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds. All of my students live in a highly dense, urban population and due to this pandemic and other life obstacles, many of them are either behind academically, have learning conditions, and a variety of other needs.
Many of my students are from impoverished communities and more than half of them live in temporary housing.
Despite these challenges, thanks to a close-knit school community, the students develop strong ties to teachers and staff past and present. They are a determined, helpful and creative bunch!
My Project
To improve on my students' artistic skills and creativity I am asking for a printer to support their various learning needs.
I will use the printer for a number of learning tools including colorful visual aids and reading material for projects.
I will also use this printer for assessments for in-progress art work, print copies for work they will complete, and handouts for additional projects to extend their learning from the classroom to their home.
Once I acquire a printer and ink for my class, learning will be more efficient and students will have even more support to accommodate their learning needs. Since I'm working with students from various socioeconomic backgrounds, not all of them will have consistent access to internet or other technology in their home, thus making a printer an exciting addition to our classroom.
