Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so inspired by my special education preschool students! I get to create the students' first school experience.
I get to experience a lot of firsts!
The first time a student says a new word like turtle or the first time a student joins in our music time and claps to the beat; the first time a student can complete a puzzle or sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star; or the first time they are able to ride the tricycle!
My Project
We are an Early Childhood Special Education Class and we are always helping students make amazing art projects as well as making things our students need. In order to do this, we need lots of colorful cardstock paper and endless amounts of thermal lamination pouches. We also need a way to make things stick in class. We use many versions of hook & loop (Velcro) adhesives as well as Gorilla double-sided adhesives and these magical Zots which are 3-D adhesives that help stick their artwork to the walls!
Help the teachers, help the students create with much-needed classroom supplies!
We create wonderful hands-on art pieces with each unit, study & holiday. We save all of these works of art and then turn them into a huge portfolio that goes home at the end of the year. The parents love this and the students are so proud of all their hard work!
