This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The majority of the students in my kindergarten class have never been in school before. The beginning of the year is especially difficult for them learning how to walk in line, sit at their desk, interact with each other, and how to sit on the rug (which is where we spend a lot of our learning time!)

This rug that I have selected would be incredibly helpful for my kinders since it has specific colorful squares that they could each sit in.

It will help them get a better idea of where they need to be, and will eliminate any debates about who sits where which is the problem we currently have all the time with our circle rug!

The rug is where we go for a lot of our lessons, especially when we're learning something new, and having my students be the most focused they can possibly be is so important! I believe this rug will help with that in keeping them on task and focused throughout the day!
