My students need colored ink to create color-coded literacy tools for school and home application.

If you walked in to my reading intervention groups, you would see twelve busy first graders actively engaged in exploring literacy!
My first grade students have been busy tackling the Common Core First Grade Standards while also concentrating on their specific I.E.P.
goals and objectives focused on their language, emotional, and physical needs. I teach in a high-poverty area in a public city school. My first graders need grit to face daily challenges both in school and their surroundings. A typical day has my students focused on language, math, Spanish, technology, science, while also receiving intervention services in reading, speech, occupational therapy, and more!
My students are not only practicing the first grade Common Core standards for literacy, but also receiving reading intervention based on their specific areas of growth. Through observation and data analysis, I'm able to customize their learning materials based on their strengths and concerns. These customized materials are focused on sight word fluency, comprehension passages, and phonics. All of these materials feature visual supports, such as color-coding and related graphics. These colorful and engaging materials focus on exactly what my students need to grow as readers! As each skill is mastered, the materials go home so my students can practice and retain these important skills. Your donation helps tremendously so I can reach all learners! Thank you very much!
By actively engaging in learning with customized hands-on literacy materials focused on exactly what they need, my students will be building a strong foundation that will lead them to be successful in second grade and beyond!
