Being a teacher at a school in that’s in the middle of low income families, it is very important for me to ensure that my classroom is a safe space for my students to learn and be as creative as their little minds can be. Most of the supplies are basic but colorful to help my students increase their attention span during the learning process.
Last year was my first year in a kindergarten classroom, and my class was not as welcoming as it could have been.
However, now I understand what’s needed and my goal with this project is to create a fun, colorful, inviting learning environment for my kiddos! I want to be able to reward them and make them feel special throughout the year as well as provide them with fun, educational, and stimulating activities such as the floor puzzles and magnetic tiles.
My students are special because throughout all adversities they’ve faced this school year, whether it’s a learning disability or personal things going on with their families, they persevered. My students struggled at the beginning of the year with writing their names and are ending the year reading entire grade level books. I want to continue this safe learning space for my kiddos next year but even better!
