My Project
I am entering my second year of teaching. I am the only art teacher at a Brooklyn, New York public school. My students come from difficult backgrounds and a large majority of my students live in temporary housing.
As an art teacher, I aim to provide a fun creative outlet for my students.
I want them to enjoy themselves and to do so, I need the appropriate materials.
Last year, my paper supply ran out very quickly. I asked my school for more paper, but never received my order. I have been having to use my own money to pay for supplies.
I want to be able to give my students the proper materials and do projects that allow them to express their creativity. This year, I am planning exciting painting, printmaking, drawing, and collage projects that will fill the art room with color, creativity, and fun!
