Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The colorful folkloric skirts I am requesting will make a significant difference in my students' learning by deepening their connection to their cultural heritage through performance. Wearing these traditional garments will enhance their understanding of Hispanic culture, while fostering a sense of pride and identity.

My goal for this project is to empower our 1st to 5th grade after-school program students to express their cultural pride through dance, as part of our annual May Day celebration.

These students are special because, despite attending a Title I school in a low-income, predominantly Hispanic community, they show incredible resilience and enthusiasm for learning. This performance will not only showcase their talents but also celebrate their vibrant cultural background.
