This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Colorful Creations: Exploring Ceramic Glazes will benefit all of my students in grades K-5 by providing them with a unique opportunity to explore their creativity and express themselves through the medium of ceramics. By engaging in hands-on learning experiences, students will not only develop artistic skills but also cultivate a sense of pride and accomplishment in their creative achievements.

Glazing is an exciting part of the ceramics process, and discussing the chemical properties and changes in the glazes during firing is a great connection to our STEAM focus and curriculum.

It's easy to get students excited about working with clay and having these special glazes, which contain small crystals that burst with color when fired, will make ceramics even more magical!
