This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My class would benefit from a carpet in the classroom because we need a place to gather together. Students will be able to move from their desk and chair to a clean, comfortable space to learn. We will also use composition books for work stations, small groups work, indoor recess play, and any other time we need to gather either in pairs, groups or together as a class.

In this cozy space we will meet to learn, think, explore and investigate the world around us.

I will read students stories and students will share their thoughts and learning with others. This will encourage my students to take their learning seriously as well. My goal is to create an environment that is inviting and comfortable to learn and grow. I have wanted a carpet for my classroom for years. The carpet as well as the other supplies that I ask for will allow me to offer engaging, fun and enticing lessons in an environment that facilitates learning. I would like to use the supplies to make workstations for both literacy and math. This will allow me to engage the students and utilize my entire classroom.

My students deserve a space that is clean, cozy, and pleasant for learning. Most elementary classrooms have a carpet that allows the children to move about from their desk to the rug. This will ensure that my students pay more attention rather than staying in the same place all day.
