This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach fifth graders who belong to different backgrounds and ethnicities in San Jose, California. My students are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and inquiring learners who love to come to school each day. They are remarkably inspired to learn and do their best in school.
I teach at an exceptional, diverse, and distinctive school in California where more than all our students receive free and reduced-price lunch.
My students speak many different languages like Spanish, Vietnamese, and Tagalog at home. We always celebrate the things that make us different, and the things that make us the same. This wonderful class is a family at school.
My students are required to use Railroad Board this school year, especially for our exhibition time It is based on researching, internalizing, and sharing global issues with our school and our community as a summative assessment in 5th grade. During this event, they create posters where they share global issues that make an impact in our world. This material is very thick, and my students have the freedom to combine colors when drawing or writing big titles with thick Sharpies.
