Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn in every way possible! They are a group of mixed abilities, language levels, and energy levels. We are a Title I school that includes students whom speak multiple languages and from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. I will use anything and learn about anything to help them be the best that they can be!
Students need a variety of materials to create projects or to write with daily.
Everyday students spend time writing on white boards, writing stories, or completing math problems! All of these activities require different supplies. If a student does not have the necessary supplies to complete daily activities in class, they struggle to be successful. We want to ensure all students achieve and have successes!
My Project
The majority of paper we use in class is plain white paper. If we have colorful paper, students will be excited by whatever they get to do with it.
Adding brightly colored paper to our rotation will spark joy!
Students will be able to create foldables and graphic organizers with style. In elementary school, it is often the little things that create enjoyment for students. By getting out of the rut of using boring, white paper, students will be engaged with the activity from the start.
Engagement is an instructional strategy we have been focusing on and I am eager to try a simple strategy such as this.
