Colorful and Defined Space for the Best Learning Experience!
My students need a colorful rug that has defined spaces to help them understand staying in their own space and having safe hands and feet while sitting on the carpet.
Our classroom comprises of 19 bright, creative and energetic students that have a passion for wanting to learn more. They love to engage with hands-on activities and fun, movement games to understand the new skills they learn in our classroom. When my students walk into our classroom, they are ready to learn and face their day head on.
I love watching them grow academically and socially as the school year progresses, taking chances to answer questions or be part of our class discussion!
They are truly impressive students that shine daily in our classroom!
My Project
When it comes to first grade, students are learning their own comfort space or personal space and learning how to give space to their peers and have safe hands or feet near their peers. With that said, I am trying to be proactive for students being safe and understanding how close they can get to their peers. I have tried various solutions in the past such as taping squares on the rug and used hula hoops, but students get distracted easily by picking at the tape or playing with their hula hoops when they should be learning.
With utilizing a carpet that has 4-5 colors and evenly distributed space, students will be able to transition easier to the carpet when learning and there will be equal spaces for all students.
Also, students will not be distracted by masking tape or other materials on the carpet during their learning time!
I am very excited to have this new colorful carpet for our classroom for future years to help students understand boundaries and personal space!
