Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We work in the Bronx at an elementary school, where the majority of our students come from low- income households. Our occupational therapy caseload consists of around 55 students with various learning disabilities including autism. Access to a printer would allow us to utilize vibrant themed activities that are visually appealing and engaging for our diverse students at their own level, while allowing us to individualize their therapy activities and remain flexible in their education. We will print visual aids, schedules and interactive activities working towards our students educational goals.
I strongly believe that simply having access to a colored printer would make a big impact on our students learning and progress.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
