My Students
My student's participation is impressive! They interact and have conversations with me about the math lesson we are covering for the day. Many of them come from diverse backgrounds. Some have families that struggle to make ends meet, but they come to school regardless. Several are immigrants or children of immigrants. Some will be the first person in their family to attend college. Many of them are also painfully unaware of their potential. I'm determined to empower them.
My Project
When we complete our notes in class, we often change colors to show where different aspects of the steps are changing and coming together. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, my students do not have access to colored pencils in the classroom.
When my students write their notes and draw graphs in color, it will help them stay organized and visualize the math better.
Later this year, my students will be completing a Desmos Classroom Activity that I have created to discover how graphs of certain functions change. Along with this Desmos Activity, they will have an activity packet where I would like them to draw their graphs in color to visualize how the graphs change in relation to their function representation.
With your help to purchase these colored-pencils, you help my students visualize the math better, keep their notes organize, and add a personal touch to their notes.
