Colored Papers And Matte Boards
My students need colored and regular white drawing papers throughout the year. We currently have a paper cutter but do not have a proper matboard cutter or any matboard.
A lot of my students come from less affluent homes, but are willing to work hard and produce nice art. The instruction I provide helps expand their knowledge of the world around them when so many times the only focus on what is in front of them.
The students at the school that I teach run from grades 7-12.
They are mostly rural students whose families work in retail to farming industries. Over half of the students are on free or reduced lunch so the incomes of families is low. They benefit from high expectations and real world applications like every other student in America. They are proud of their community and have a great sense of work ethic.
I am requesting drawing paper, colored paper for cutouts and collages, matboard and a matboard cutter. Although there was a lot of manila paper left over from the previous art teacher there is little white drawing paper. There is almost no colored paper in the classroom and I have a few lessons that deal with artists like Henri Matisse. When students work is presented, I would like for it to look as professional as possible. The matboard and matboard cutter will help me present the student work with in the school setting, for contests and for the conference art show.
In order for my students to complete projects that they are proud of and would present to the community they need these resources.
The matboard cutter and blades will be used for many years to come and the students will win ribbons and awards for the work the they produce.
