My students need colored paper. One of the organizational systems I use is to give them important hand-outs that will be used throughout the unit and/or the year on colored paper.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 7th Grade English Language Arts students are wonderful. They are kind, thoughtful, and for the most part, love to read. They are mostly from Queens. My school is a Title I School, which means that a large percentage of them come from low income households.
My students struggle with organizational skills, and this will be one of my areas of focus this year.
This project will help me help them to stay on top of the myriad of paperwork they are given throughout the year.
My Project
My students struggle with staying organized. By the end of the school year, my students' folders are absolutely busting at the seams with unnecessary paper from the entire year.
One of the organizational systems I have put into place to help students with organization is printing important paperwork on colored paper so that when they are cleaning out their folders at the end of a unit, they know what is necessary to keep and what they can dispose of.
I have found this method to be very successful in ensuring that my students keep what is most important and learn to purge what is not from their folder. Unfortunately, colored paper is fairly expensive, and the school does not supply it. Funding of this project would be very helpful.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
