My Students

I have the pleasure of working with outstanding children.

They come to school prepared to learn and try their best every day. I teach in a Title I school with a high population of non-native English speakers. Our school is located in a low-income area, with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

I focus on the potential and growth of the children in my room. That growth is measured in student joy and love for learning, their engagement in classroom activities, and their desire to share their learning at home!

My Project

Teaching first graders requires using color coding when modeling and giving instructions. I use many basic supplies with and for my students. Some projects require lamination so they will last longer.

My students want to use colored markers and rings like their teacher to show the different sentences or subjects.

To reinforce those skills, I am asking for colored rings and dry erase markers. Young students have trouble with glue, so the glue dots make art work more productive.

The supplies I am asking for are used all the time by the teacher, but I would love to put those items in the hands of my students and watch them as they grow in their experience and ability to instruct others. First graders love to write, decorate, take notes and color, and the basic supplies will allow them to enhance the work going on.
