This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the classroom.

In our financial literacy class, my goal is to make learning about money management not just informative, but also engaging and hands-on.

By incorporating colors and creativity, I can tap into their natural curiosity and help them better understand complex concepts in a fun and interactive way.

The goal of this project is to create an interactive and colorful learning environment where students can develop practical financial skills that will serve them throughout their lives. By using visual aids and hands-on activities, I hope to foster a deeper understanding of financial literacy concepts like budgeting, saving, and investing.

A set of colorful markers will help my students visually categorize and differentiate between different types of expenses, savings goals, and income sources. Colors can make abstract financial concepts more tangible. This visual learning tool will help students better grasp and retain important lessons. With plastic sheet covers, we can create reusable activity sheets. Students can use dry-erase markers to practice filling out budgeting forms, calculating expenses, and comparing different financial scenarios. This reusability allows them to learn through trial and error without fear of making mistakes, encouraging a growth mindset. The bins will be used to organize and store our materials, making it easy for students to access everything they need for our activities. Additionally, each bin can represent a different savings goal or financial category, creating a physical representation of their learning and giving them a tangible way to track their progress.

I want my students to feel empowered to make smart financial decisions, I aim to instill in them the confidence to understand, manage, and grow their personal finances creatively and effectively.
