My Project
Have you ever had to deny a child something that they needed, because you didn't have the funds to supply it? If you have, then you know exactly how I feel. Last year my students often needed colored pencils to complete or embellish assignments for my class, but I was unable to provide them with these tools as needed.
Due to our being a Title 1 school, we do not have the funds to provide these colored pencils to our students.
Additionally, the pencils that we did have available to us on occasion, did not include skin tones that represented our beautifully diverse student body. I would love to be able to provide a pack of colored pencils and sharpener to each of my students to use for the year. This, along with a class set of color of the world pencils, will allow my students will be able to accurately represent themselves and others as needed.
